Barbara Luhring goes on the road to Sturgeon Bay for a talk with singer/songwriter pat mAcdonald about Steel Bridge SongFest III. This year’s SongFest takes place June 9-16, 2007 in Historic Downtown Sturgeon Bay. Headlining artists include Jackson Browne, Jane Wiedlin, Stan Ridgeway and Grant Phillips. During the interview they are joined by Pat’s sister Christie Weber, who discusses the purpose of the festival – to raise money for the repair and upkeep of the historic Michigan Street bridge in Sturgeon Bay and Adam Macintosh, a singer/songwriter from Denver who took part in the songwriter’s Construction Zone at the Holiday Motel last year.

Isadoora Theatre Company celebrates its 5th birthday with a blockbuster production of Chicago to be performed at the Door Community Auditorium in Fish Creek. RiverRat Gallery is Milwaukeeâ€™s only homeless gallery. This unique urban art show was held in an alley adjacent to the fabulous Amazon Pizza. It was announced in 2004 that New York City’s iconic punk club CBGB may face closure in the near future. Its’ lease expired on August 31, 2005, and talks between the property owner (Bowery Residents Committee) and club founder Hilly Kristal had stalled over alleged unpaid rent and safety concerns. Caitlin Oleson talks with Hilly Kristal at his iconic club CBGB in the Bowery, NYC. Kristal has been remarkably sanguine in the face of the fact that perhaps CBGB’s time has come as the neighborhood continues its gentrification. (This was the first podcast interview Hilly Kristal ever granted.)
