Al Johnson and Norbert Blei
Good friends and Door County Icons Al Johnson and Norbert Blei cover allot of material in this almost hour-long discussion of Door County past and present. Among the topics: the “counter culture” at Al Johnson’s Swedish Restaurant, Emma Husby, Eddie Valentine, Wink Larson, Baldy Bridenhagen, Ingert Johnson and the Johnson family, condominiums and of course - goats on one’s roof. Barbara Luhring listens in to this fascinating and many times hilarious conversation. You should listen in too.

This is a large MP3 file and will take a while to download on dial-up.

On-the-Road: pat mAcdonald and the Steel Bridge SongFest 2007

Sunday, February 4th, 2007

Barbara Luhring goes on the road to Sturgeon Bay for a talk with singer/songwriter pat mAcdonald about Steel Bridge SongFest III. This year’s SongFest takes place June 9-16, 2007 in Historic Downtown Sturgeon Bay. Headlining artists include Jackson Browne, Jane Wiedlin, Stan Ridgeway and Grant Phillips. During the interview they are joined by Pat’s sister Christie Weber, who discusses the purpose of the festival - to raise money for the repair and upkeep of the historic Michigan Street bridge in Sturgeon Bay and Adam Macintosh, a singer/songwriter from Denver who took part in the songwriter’s Construction Zone at the Holiday Motel last year.
Listen to pat mAcdonald’s Steel Bridge Song from his just-released CD, Troubador of Stomp at the end of the podcast. You can purchase Troubador of Stomp at Pat’s MySpace page.
